Pottery for me means simple functional forms thrown on the wheel and glazed in warm, earthy colors reminiscent of cone 10 reduction firings. It also means the unglazed, warm reddish-brown colors of terra cotta garden pottery. And recently it means that I love making fruit baskets woven
of clay, something that resulted from a regular challenge among Mendocino Coast potters wherein we encourage each other to try new techniques to make things we might not otherwise make. My bowls, plates, houseplant pots, and baskets are meant for everyday use and are dishwasher and microwave safe.

Earthy and country-style.
My pottery features simple, functional forms with warm, earthy glazes and the natural beauty of unglazed terra cotta. My creations, including bowls, plates, houseplant pots, and woven clay fruit baskets, combine tradition with innovation. Designed for everyday use, they are dishwasher and microwave safe, blending practicality with timeless craftsmanship.
My work is rooted in wheel throwing, a skill I have honed over more than a decade to create precise, functional forms. I also embrace coiling, a technique I explored during the Mendocino Coast Clay Challenge. This blend of mastery and experimentation shapes my pottery’s country character.
