Celine Gerakin
Born and raised in Paris, France, I am a professional marketer who moved to the United States 18 years ago. My artistic journey has taken me through a variety of crafts, including beading, sewing, and metalsmithing. A brief introduction to pottery at the age of 10 sparked my initial interest, but it wasn’t until two years ago that I got introduced to the wheel. Now, I’m joyfully exploring the endless techniques and possibilities pottery offers. I am still new to the art, but so far I have been enjoying making mugs, different sizes and shapes of bowls and other functional ware that are for everyday use and dishwasher safe.

Each of my ceramic pieces reflects the profound inspiration I draw from the ocean. With 14 years as a beach cleanup volunteer and 8 years living aboard a boat, I cherish the ocean’s beauty and strength.
Through my work, I aim to honor Mother Nature’s power and timeless presence.
To bring the ocean to life in my ceramics, I use techniques like stamping, carving, and slip trailing to create intricate textures reminiscent of waves and tides. Each piece is completed with carefully selected glazes that break beautifully, revealing the flowing curves and dynamic patterns that capture the essence of the sea.
