Lisa Graves
As a professional painter turned potter, I bring my love of bright colors, texture, and playful designs to my ceramics. Handbuilding is my preferred method, allowing me to shape unique forms enriched by stamping, carving, and intricate surface patterns. Experimenting with vibrant glazes, I create dynamic and joyful pieces. A native Californian, I’ve drawn inspiration from my years living in historic New England, the prairies, and the mountain deserts. Now settled back on the North Coast in Fort Bragg, I find endless creativity in combining my painterly instincts with the tactile art of pottery, crafting pieces that bring joy and color to life.

Organic and Colorful.
Though I trained as a painter I am now finding my way with clay. It is a breath of fresh air for me to begin a project with no expectations of what the end product may be. Experimentation galore! I enjoy creating free-form pieces with stamped and carved surfaces.
Walks along our beautiful coastline, the
Camino de Santiago, colorful gardens and our local fauna are all sources of inspiration.
