  • Winter ’25 Challenge: Wall Hanging Clock

    We are thrilled to announce our next creative pottery challenge, and it’s one I think you’ll find both inspiring and a bit out of the ordinary!

    • What? Hanging Wall Clock. This challenge offers endless possibilities to get creative, combining art with function. Whether you’re drawn to earthy colors, organic textures, or whimsical designs, I can’t wait to see everyone’s interpretations of a clock.
    • When? We’ve set the challenge deadline for the first week of February 2025. After crafting our masterpieces, we’ll gather to showcase our work and share some laughs and inspiration.

    This is a fantastic opportunity to learn something new or improve on existing skills. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s unique take on this challenge, pushing boundaries and bringing dreamy visions to life.

    Clay Challenge Details

    • Theme: “A Walk in the Woods” – Let the forest inspire you 🙂
    • Size: Minimum 10 inches
    • Technique: Your choice! Feel free to use your favorite method or go on an adventure and explore new techniques
    • Pendulum: Optional (not included in the final size)

     Deadline: The first weekend of February

    We’re riding the wave of excitement from our last gathering and are thrilled to announce the next creative challenge drawn by none other than an innocent 2-year-old hand! Prepare to light up your pottery skills with our new project.

    • What? This is your chance to explore the tactile and versatile world of coiled ceramics, stretching your skills to create something both functional and enchanting. Whether you hand roll your coils or use an extruder, we can’t wait to see how you interpret the “dreamy” theme to illuminate our lives.
    • When? We’ve set the challenge deadline for October 19th 2024. After crafting our masterpieces, we’ll gather to showcase our work and share some laughs and inspiration.

    We’re thrilled to invite you to a friendly Mendocino Coast Clay Challenge, concocted to push our boundaries and add a splash of fun to our usual routines.

    • What? A friendly pottery competition where we can all explore our artistic sides. Whether you’re a seasoned potter or a curious newbie, this challenge is about stepping outside our comfort zones and having a great time.
    • When? We’ve set the challenge deadline for July 27th 2024. After crafting our masterpieces, we’ll gather to showcase our work and share some laughs and inspiration.
